Farmer leader Chunappa Pujeri has announced that the sugarcane farmers’ agitation has been withdrawn following the agreement reached on sugarcane pricing in Belagavi district.
Speaking to the media Pujeri said farmers were satisfied with the price settlement and appealed to everyone not to obstruct the reopening of sugar factories.
He also confirmed that the agitation at Gurlapur had been withdrawn.
With the deadlock between farmers and sugar factory owners resolved, sugar factories are expected to resume operations from Friday, November 6.
