In December 2023 we saw a strong public demand for the construction of a district stadium in Belagavi. It is crucial to provide our sportspeople with a platform to represent our country at the international level. Recognizing this need, the Minister of Youth Empowerment, Sports Department, and Scheduled Tribes Welfare Department, B. Nagendra, has instructed officials to develop a plan for the construction of a new district stadium at Ramtheerth Nagar in Belagavi and now the Tender has been floated for the same.

Approximate value of work (Rs.) – 7,70,09,391.68
The Works consist of “Clearing and grubbing road land, Earth work excavation for Foundation by mechanical means, Construction of embankment, Earth filling, Earth Back Filling, Construction of RCC Box Type Drain, RCC Earth Retaining wall, Construction of Temple, Steel reinforcement, etc.”
The Intended Completion Date for the whole of the Works is 11 (Eleven) months
To accommodate the stadium, the Belgaum Urban Development Authority has already allocated 9.26 acres of land at Survey nos 633,622, 623 of Ramtirth Nagar Belagavi.
