Ugadi to be celebrated as “Dharmik Din”

Karnataka Muzrai Minister Shashikala Jolle will perform special worship on Ugadi as the state government has directed temples under the Muzrai department to mark Ugadi as “Dharmik Din” (religious day) on the first day of the Hindu New Year.

According to the instructions, programs should be organized according to Indian culture in all the notified temples on that day. He said such programs should include efforts to create awareness among people.

Temples have been asked to offer special prayers for the development of the state.

Shri Virupakashalinga Samadhi Math in Nippani Taluka special puja will be held in the presence of his holiness Shri Siddeshwar Mahawasmi and Shri Adurshya Kadsiddheshwar Mahaswami of Kaneri Math along with minister Jolle will undertake special pujas on the occasion.

Deputy Commissioner of Belagavi has issued an order for the same.
