In a devastating incident that occurred on Savgaon Road, an engineering student lost his life after falling from an unscientific road hump. The unfortunate event took place near Angadi College, leaving the student with severe injuries that ultimately proved fatal.
The victim, Rishikesh Satyapramod Kulkarni, a resident of Budhwar Peth, Tilakwadi, was on his way to college on a two-wheeler when he tragically fell from a poorly designed roadblock. The severity of his injuries necessitated his admission to a private hospital, where his condition deteriorated rapidly. Despite the best efforts of medical professionals, Rishikesh succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind his grieving parents and three sisters.
Rishikesh, a final year civil engineering student, had a promising future ahead of him. His untimely demise serves as a stark reminder of the urgent need for proper road infrastructure and safety measures. The incident has been reported to the Belgaum Rural Police Station, highlighting the importance of investigating and rectifying the unscientific road hump that claimed this young student’s life.
This tragic incident should serve as a wake-up call for authorities to prioritize the safety of road users. It is imperative that roadblocks and humps are designed and implemented in a scientifically sound manner, taking into account the potential risks they pose to motorists and pedestrians alike. By doing so, we can prevent further loss of life and ensure the well-being of our community.
Our thoughts and condolences go out to Rishikesh’s family and friends during this difficult time. May his soul rest in peace, and may his untimely passing inspire positive change in our road infrastructure to prevent such tragedies from occurring in the future.
It’s an irony that a civil engineering student dies on a road hump imposed by illiterate, corrupt road makers
How about fully a PIL to arrest and charge all the concerned in making this particular hump a death trap
Please make this a moment with a form signing up for a PIL, please
This is nothing but negligence on the part of PWD Engineers and they have to be accountable for this.Heads should roll and severest action needs to b taken. How long is it that the citizens should be treated as herds.
Request immediate action on the contractor and engineers
