With the announcement of the much-awaited Vande Bharat Express extension to Belagavi, the most common question on everyone’s mind is—when will it start? Given past delays in railway projects and the invisible hand of bureaucracy, scepticism is running high.

However, sources within the railway department indicate that while major infrastructure work is already in place, about a month is needed to sort out crucial operational aspects. The primary maintenance setup for the Vande Bharat train at Belagavi is being finalized, but logistical details—such as hiring cleaning staff, catering arrangements, and last-minute timetable adjustments—are still pending.

Railway officials remain confident that these arrangements can be managed within the estimated timeframe. With this, the official countdown for the Vande Bharat extension to Belagavi has begun. While scepticism is natural, the hope remains that this long-awaited project will soon be a reality for passengers eager to experience faster, more comfortable travel to Bengaluru.

  1. Why can’t a new dedicated vande bharat train from belgaum to bangalore be started rather than extension of dharwad to bangalore train when it is running full. When 2 vande bharat runs from chennai to mysore. Retaining secunderabad to nagpur vandebharat is done. Why can’t this happen.we have sent 17 BJP MP

  3. Actually VB was required to start from Dharawad early morning to Bengaluru so that people can finish off their official & personal work at bengaluru & return back by same VB or by night train ( like other VB trains) but exact opposite happened. Still people are using it with min 85% occupancy. Disrupting this can cost Railways heavily. Best option is to run another new VB from Belagavi at 5.30am & rectify the earlier goofup.

  4. It is being consistently put out that a separate dedicated VB be introduced from belgaum to Bangalore with very few stops of say more than 250 kms. Since hubli will be getting new namo VB metro. People of belagavi are eagerly waiting for a faster train with very less stops , so that different classess of people for various reasons shall reach Bangalore at a very early time . Also a non stop train is a very good idea whic shall ensure a good revenue to the railways.

  5. Sir
It’s earnest request arrange a seperate train Vande Bharat Belgaum & Bangalore. As already the train stands first at national level in occupancy. It’s really convenient for Hubli – Dharwad travellers and all we are really happy to travel in full swing. The quota will be less for Hubli travellers go for some other option to travel. There’s no other way to travel.
Hence my option is whether why can’t tl arrange one more train from Belgaum in the same way like Bangalore – Dharwad.
The train time is to be like Bangalore – Dharwad & the time should be to start morning 5 am to Bangalore & from there 2 pm to Belgaum.
For railways the traveller are happy & the earnings will be good.
    It’s a request and suggestion.
Hope you will take necessary arrangement.
    Regards

  6. Before introducing new and more trains to run from Belagavi, serious measures need to be taken to resolve the railway crossings at gate 1 & 2… it is a real nuisance for people, why cant they think of an OB or an underpass or even a Belagavi 2 station on the lines of Shimoga… poor town planning…. frustrating

  7. If VB train is extended, the return trip will reach Bangalore around 10 PM. It’s really difficult for passengers at that hour. There is no prepaid autos and this will put the passenger in Hassel. Best approach is to Press additional VB to Belgavi. It’s just a common sense.

  9. As it is vande bharat dharwad is running with low occupancy. So extension is the best solution.. We r eagerly waiting for this vb train from belagavi bcoz compared to hubli dharwad citizens belagavi citizens are more spending nature.. So same we cant expect from HD people..so once extended it will go full.. Railway will b benefitted.

  10. The Best option would 1 VB from Belgaum to Bangalore in Morning and another from Bangalore to Belgavi say they both start at 5:30 from respective station and both return to Belgavi/Bangalore say around 3:00 so if any work in Belgavi can be completed in same day

  11. Sir in my opinion and also in the interest of public two VB trains shall be simultaneously operated from Belagavi & Bengaluru in the morning at 5.45 am and the existing VB 20661/2 shall be extended to Belagavi at the same time. This will help tremendously to both cities.
