Union Minister Pralhad Joshi met Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today at his parliamentary office in New Delhi, along with Belagavi MP Jagadish Shettar, to discuss the long-pending demand for extending the Vande Bharat Express to Belagavi.
Earlier, Rajya Sabha MP Iranna Kadadi and Belagavi MLA Abhay Patil had also submitted a formal request for the extension.
A few days ago, Minister Joshi had convened a meeting with senior South Western Railway officials, including the General Manager, Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), and other key representatives at his Lok Sabha constituency office in Hubballi. During the meeting, he proposed that the Vande Bharat train should originate from Belagavi in the morning, reach Bengaluru, and return at night.
After reviewing the technical feasibility and analyzing the railway department’s report, the Railway Minister responded positively, confirming that the Vande Bharat Express will soon operate between Belagavi and Bengaluru.
“This will significantly improve travel convenience for the people of Belagavi and Hubballi-Dharwad,” Joshi stated, expressing gratitude to the Railway Minister for approving the request.
The official schedule for the Belagavi-Bengaluru Vande Bharat train is expected to be announced soon.
Good development. Now the time table should be announced immediately. Otherwise the extension of VANDE BHARAT to Bangaluru will again be delayed like it happened last time. Local representatives should ensure that it happens at once. Secondly, they should also look into the reason of stoppage of OVERBRIDGE at the third gate. Work has stopped for last more than a year. Reason is unknown. They should resolve the issues if any and restart the construction work and complete it in SIX months.

Belagavi being more revenue generator than why always hubli is coming in middle on what basis, I really dont understand, even they made Hescom , hubli junction & we have a very nice decent people living in belagavi, I have travelled a lot and havent seen such a nice community mostly humble people reside in belagavi
