Visually impaired Student tops college

Kareppa Balu Shidlyal(20) a born blind, resident of Paschapur village Hukkeri taluk about 40 km from Belagavi has achieved what normal students can only dream of.

He has topped the College as he secured total 563 marks out of 600 securing 93.83 % marks in the PUC 2 studying at the KLES Lingraj PU college of arts and commerce.

blind-pucHailing from a underprivileged family who lost his father quite early, his mother was his sole inspiration. Their house is in a very bedraggled condition, hence Kareappa and his m,other stay in a rented house.

He used to review the syllabus by hearing the recordings of lectures held in college. He used to record the lectures in classroom and listen to them again and again on his mobile.

In December this year he was admitted to hospital for 25 days for a stomach ailment but he came back and with complete dedication studied hard and the results are here.

No physical disability is big to overcome, one just needs the courage and the encouragement.

Kareappa gives credit of his success to his mother who has been the pillar of support for him at each and every step. He aims to to appear KAS and IAS examinations.
