Hon’ble High court of Karnataka, passed an order on the 21st April 2021 ordering the State of Karnataka and 2 other respondents in Writ petition 13736/2019 to regulate and clear the footpaths.
Hence, looking at the increasing disregard for road safety, Mr. Ajit Patil filed a RTI with the Commissioner of Police, inquiring about the actions taken by the Officials to comply with the High Court order.
A reply from the Commissioner of Police was forwarded to the ACP, directing the ACP to deliver the details to the applicant.
It’s not a secret that Belagavi is also suffering from the same issues as claimed by the petitioner in the writ, with no steps taken by the authorities to maintain public safety, even after clear directions from the Hon’High Court.
It remains to be seen what response the City’s Law & Order will provide in order to comply with the Court’s verdict.
