Winter session ends

The legislators of North Karnataka showed their insensitiveness in championing the causes related to North Karanataka at the Winter session held at Belgaum. The Cauvery issue and KJP were glooming over the session from day one and no major discussion was held with regards to North Karnataka.

Many legislators also argues what was the need to hold a session here spend so much and dont discuss anything related to the region.
Issues of northern region such as drought, human trafficking, drinking water and malnutrition did not come up for discussions. The BJP says the session was successful as Upper Krishna project and the issue of giving special status to Hyderabad-Karnataka region were discussed in detail.

The boycott of the Assembly by the Congress and the Janata Dal (Secular) to demand extension of the session by a day to debate issues pertained to north Karnataka, CAG reports on illegal mining and denotification of lands by the BDA came in handy for the smooth passage 16 Bills in the Lower House. The violence infront of the Suvarna Soudha also broke up from Tuesday and an inquiry was asked into the same.
Crore’s of rupees were spent on the same and most of the media each day published images of MLAs taking big naps in the Assembly. Also each day images of vacant seats was a common scene. Infact there was no interest in the local public with the winter session as it was with its inaugural function held in November.

RTI activists must have already started their work on getting replies on how much was spent and on what.

The Assembly session was a boon for Spicejet with almost 90% occupancy or some days even more in both directions.

Now we will have to wait for the next winter when again (hopefully) we will have the next session.
