A new liquor shop was opened by MSIL on Kirloskar road next to Nagori sweets. Since the morning women had started gathering near the place as they were against the opening of new liquor shops in the city.
A few women managed to make entry into the shop but were taken out by the Police.
Some points we all need to ask the authorities:
The shop has come up in a Basement is this legal?
Is it correct on the part of the govt. to give permission to open a new liquor shop just 25 meters away from the Martyr’s monument in Hutatma chowk?
Kirloskar road already has 2 bar in restaurants and one liquor shop on a hardly 150 meter long road.
Please see that a wine shop is already situated well before this new one. why so much about a Govt owned shop when hundreds are already operating right in the heart of city? I feel it is a planned agitation by the existing wine shop owners to whom MRP means +25%.
