Wrong side driving truck kills biker

The incident near Ashoka Circle, close to Fort Belagavi, has left a young man from Maruti Nagar dead. The unfortunate incident occurred on Friday at approximately 10.45 pm when a truck, attempting to avoid barricades, drove in the wrong direction and collided with a motorcycle.

An FIR has been filed against the truck driver at the Traffic North Division police station. The deceased, Shrikant Suresh Hampannawar, aged 32, resided in Marutinagar, Belagavi. He was en route to the city on his motorcycle when the accident took place. The barricades were set up ahead on the road from Ashoka Pillar to Gandhinagar.

Tragically, the collision between the truck and the bike resulted in severe injuries for Srikanth. Despite efforts to transport him to Civil Hospital, he succumbed to his injuries on the way. Srikanth leaves behind his parents, wife, two children, and sister.

According to the traffic police, the accident was caused by the truck driver’s reckless decision to drive in the wrong direction.

  1. When will this end? Literally for no fault of oneself ppl r losing their lives bcos of fault of others. There r 2 wheeler guys with their neck bent to 60 Dec attending imp calls n that too when negotiating a round about… What say… N our cops r busy imposingfine on only helmet offenders…. How about those with wrong side, talking on mobile while riding n funniest part is Wen ppl accelerate their vehicles even bfore the signal turns green…. God save our Belgaumites n give them Sadhbuddhi

    No Sign Boards, No Cops, Only You Will find Barricades and people just overlooking it.
    Where is the Administrative Officers of Belgaum.And Smart City. Police officers
