17th Free Swimming Coaching Camp for Differently Abled and Underprivileged Inaugurated

Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum Free Swimming Coaching Camp for Differently Abled and Underprivileged has created heroes who won 48 international medals as of now.

The mega project of Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum 17th Free Swimming Coaching Camp for Differently Abled and Underprivileged was inaugurated on 5th February at the auspicious hands of Prof. (Dr) Vivek Saoji, Vice Chancellor, KLE University, Belagavi. The said coaching camp is conducted at Rotary Corporation Sports Academy’s Swimming Pool, Goaves, Belagavi untill 21st February 2018 between 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. except Sunday.

Over 200 Children comprising of Physically challenged, visually impaired, Mentally challenged, hearing impaired and under privileged children have participated. All the children are provided with Free Transportation, Free Swimming Kit, and Staple Diet apart from Swimming Training.

This is the 17th year of this type of coaching camp. The talented participants are chosen for competitive training through the year. Seven swimmers who had taken coaching in this coaching camp have represented India at various International Competitions and won totally 48 International Medals. Hundreds of swimmers participated at the National level competitions and won more than 500 medals to name a few Mr. Raghvendra Anavekar, Mr. Rajesh Shinde, Master Moin Junnedi, Umesh Khade, Shridhar Malagi, Simran Gaundalkar, Aatish Jadhav etc.

This coaching camp is supported by Jaybharat Foundation, Rotary Club of Belgaum, KLE University, Polyhydron Foundation and others. Anchoring and vote of thanks was done by Miss Sneha Jadhav.
