20th Free Swimming Coaching Camp for Differently Abled and Underprivileged Inaugurated

The Mega Project of Swimmers Club Belgaum and Aquarius Swim Club Belgaum the 20th Free Swimming Coaching Camp for Differently Abled and Underprivileged was inaugurated recently at the auspicious hands of Padmashree awardee Dr. Madan Godbole by lighting the lamp.

The said coaching camp is being conducted at Suvarna JNMC Swimming Pool (Olympic size), Belagavi. This coaching camp will go on till 5th March 2022 between 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. The said camp is conducted in association with KLE University, Belagavi.

Over 60 Children comprising of Physically challenged, Visually challenged, Mentally challenged, Hearing speech challenged and underprivileged children are participating. All these children are provided with Free Transportation, Free Swimming Kit, and Staple Diet apart from Swimming Training.

The talented participants are chosen for competitive training throughout the year and they have been given systematic and scientific training to prepare for the competition. It is a matter of great pride for the organizers seven swimmers who were the product of this coaching camp have represented India at various International Competitions and have won totally more than 50 International Medals.

Hundreds of swimmers participated at the National level competitions and have bagged more than 500 medals to name a few Mr. Raghvendra Anavekar, Mr. Rajesh Shinde, Master Moin Junnedi, Umesh Khade, Shridhar Malagi, Simran Gaundalkar, Aatish Jadhav, Shrikant Desai, Amogh Kamble etc.

Also, three swimmers have been adopted for KHELO INDIA a project by the Government of India namely Swatik Patil, Sahil Jadhav, and Simran Gaundalkar project they are getting advanced training at Sports Authority of India center Gujarat under the watchful of guidance experts.

While addressing before the participants chief guest Padmashree Awardee Dr. Madan Godbole was very much impressed and appreciated the work being done by the organizer from the past 20 years to bring transformation in the differently-abled and underprivileged children to help them to come in the main stream of the society.

This coaching camp is supported by M/s Allied foundry and Shri. Suresh Bhat is helping the organizers to make this coaching camp successful.

To make this coaching camp a great success efforts have been put by Mr. Akshay Sheregar, Mr. Ajinkya Mendke, Mr. Nitish Kuduchkar, Mr. Govardhan Kakatkar, Mr. Vinod Dodamani, Mr. Vinayak Ambewadikar, Mr. Prasad Vernekar On this occasion Gangadhar E, Executive Engineer, Mahantesh Narasannavar Asst. Executive Engineer, Rtn. Basavraj Vibhuti, Rtn. Sachin Bichu, Mr. Umesh Kalghatgi, Mr. Sudhir Kusane, Mr. Prasad Tendolkar, Mr. Suryakant Hindalgekar, Mr. Raghvendra Anavekar, Mr. Rajesh Shinde, Mr. Moin Junnedi, Mr. Mudhukar Bagewadi and Kallappa Patil were also present.
