Six Boxers (4 Men & 2 Women) of Jain College of Engineering, Belagavi, have been selected in the VTU Boxing team and have been awarded the prestigious ‘University Blue’ status. The selected Boxers will be representing VTU Boxing Team in All India Inter University Boxing Championship to be held in Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar. (Punjab) from 19th to 23rd Feb 2015 for Women and 25th Feb to 04th March 2015 for Men
All the boxers performed exceptionally well in the VTU selection trials held recently. Zain Ternikar of 4th Sem (Civil) in 91 kg, Vikas Ojha of 4th Sem (E&E) in 60 kg, Sunilkumar Harobidi of 4th Sem (E&C) in 49kg, Rohit Vannur of 4th Sem (E&C) in 75 kg are selected in VTU Boxing Men team and Emeethi Mohite of 4th (ME) in 56 kg & Akshata Patil of 4th sem (ME) in 60 kg are selected in VTU Boxing Women team.
