20 skaters from Belgaum successfully completed the Belgaum to Delhi skating rally done with the theme of “Save Baby Girl Child”.
The Rally which had begun from Belgaum on 15th August 2012, reached Parliament,Vijay chowk at New Delhi on 30th August 2012 at 5pm and covered the distance about 2100 kms.
The Rally was welcomed by Shri.Mallikarjun Khargeji(Hon.Minister for labor) Dr.Prabhakar kore (MP Rajyasabha), Shri.G.M.Siddeshwar(MP loksabha,Davangere), Shri.Prahalad Joshi (MP Loksabha, Dharwad), Shri. Jay Prakash Hegde (MP Chickmanglur), Shr.Umesh Kalgatgi (President Belgaum Roller Skating Academy), Shri.Basavaraj Javali (President Belgaum Small scale association & BCCI), Monica Prashant Sawant (Lions club of Shahapur,Belgaum).
The skaters traveled through of Karnataka, Maharstara, Gujrat, Rajasthan, Haryana and reached Delhi under the guidance of Skating Coach Suryakant Hindalgekar.

English Medium School), Amankumar Paragi, (St. Mary’s High School), Bharat Patil (Pandit Nehru High School), Aditya Patil, Prajakt Patil (St. Xavier’s High School), Yojan Sambhuche (St. Joseph’s High School), Omkar Jadhav (Amrita Vidhyalay), Karan Javali (RLS College), Prathamesh Bagewadi (Vanita Vidhyalay English Medium), Prakash Patil (Jain College), Manjunath Mandolkar, Omkar Labbi, Ashwin Upadhye, Srinivas Jadhav, Kiran Ingole.
Hats off to these kids for their achievement. But, give it a thought! what did they gain from it? Do all these rallies and all really help? they don’t! the fact is that people don’t have time for all this! the people those who have time for all this are not interested! Just by saying ‘save the girl child’ nothing’s gonna happen!! no matter how many rallies..how many seminars or how many programs are conducted.. india’s gonna remain the way it is.. ORTHODOX! wake up kids! stop wasting ur time! if you all are so much aware of all this stop wasting time in doing such things! instead, implement the in ur life in the future! u can atleast make something out of it then!
