Have you ever seen a blind person showing direction to a car driver? If not, then you have an opportunity to witness it in Belgaum on Sunday, 16th March 2014. For the first time blind navigators from across Karnataka will guide drivers with normal vision across a 32 kms route.
The route map printed in Braille, will be handed over to the Blind navigator during flag off. They would use their skills to interpret the directions and guide the driver through the pre selected circuit across the city. The event will showcase to the participants the challenges faced by the visually impaired and their excellent skills in reading Braille. It will also empower the visually impaired and give them a chance to navigate and lead. Funds raised through the event will be used for building 6 classrooms for the underprivileged at Vantmuri village in Belgaum district.
