Niranjan Navalgund from Belagavi participated in the Rapid and Blitz format of International FIDE events on 21st and 22nd November 2015 held at Manav Sthali School’ New Delhi which attracted 240 + entries from various parts of India and tournament was named after the living legend Shri.Virendra Bhatnagar.
Niranjan bagged 7th and 5th prize in the Rapid and Blitz sections respectively. He was awarded with two glittering trophies and a cash prize totalling Rs.13000/-. The performance got him around 30 blitz rating points.
Matta Vinay Kumar of Andhra Bank won the rapid event and GM Sriram Jha of LIC won the blitz event.
