Tanishka Kalbhairav won her first WTT title in Thailand

Tanishka Kalbhairav from Belagavi has achieved a remarkable feat by winning the gold medal in the Under 11 category at the WTT( World Table Tennis) Youth Contender Bangkok 2023, held at Fashion Island Bangkok, Thailand. In an intense match, she emerged victorious by defeating her opponent from Chinese Taipei in a thrilling battle that went to five sets.

Tanishka’s exceptional talent has been nurtured under the guidance of Coach Sangam Bailoor at the prestigious Belgaum Table Tennis Academy. This victory also marks a significant milestone for Belagavi, as Tanishka could become the first player from the city to win such a prestigious accolade at the international level.

The World Table Tennis Championships are highly esteemed table tennis competitions sanctioned by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF).

Tanishka has consistently excelled in her performances since 2022, maintaining an impressive winning streak that has extended from the Nationals to the World Table Tennis (WTT) competition.

Tanishka Kalbhairav emerged as the champion in the U-13 singles category at the State ranking table tennis tournament, organized by the Belagavi TT Association in Belagavi on Sunday. This remarkable victory marked Tanishka’s third gold medal of the season, solidifying her position as a rising star in the sport.

Tanishka Kapil Kalbhairav of Belagavi exacted her revenge against Saturya Banerjee last week, claiming the youth girls U-11 crown at the UTT National Ranking Table Tennis Championships in Surat on Tuesday. After suffering a 1-3 defeat to the Bengal player at the Vadodara National ranking tournament, Tanishka made the most of Saturya’s inconsistent form to secure a convincing 12-10, 11-4, 11-6 victory. Apart from the first game, which she won after a deuce, Tanishka was in complete control and emerged a comfortable winner.

October 2022 At the Karnataka state ranking Table Tennis tournament held at Bangalore Tanishka Kalbhairav bagged Gold in Under 11 & Under 13.
