Belagavi Super Specialty Hospital Inauguration soon

The inauguration of the Belagavi Super Specialty Hospital in the BIMS premises has been delayed due to technical reasons. BIMS Director Ashok Kumar Shetty assured that the hospital will be inaugurated very soon.

Constructed at a cost of ₹140 crore, the hospital in Belagavi city is in its final stages of completion. Director Ashok Kumar Shetty provided an update on the status, mentioning that while minor works are in progress, the official handover will occur once the fire safety approval is obtained.

Since December 2022 the building has been ready but due to a lack of grants for equipment and manpower the hospital hasn’t commenced its operations. Work commenced in 2019 

The hospital, once inaugurated, is expected to greatly benefit the local population. It features several specialized departments across its floors: the first floor will house Neurology, Neuro Surgery, Plastic Surgery, and Endocrinology; the second floor will have Gastroenterology, Nephrology, and Surgical Gastroenterology; the third floor will contain VIP and General Wards; and the fourth floor will host Operation Theaters.

Additionally, significant improvements have been made in the maternity ward, ensuring hot water facilities for both mother and child and maintaining high standards of cleanliness. Director Shetty also emphasized the importance of cooperation between the hospital staff and patient’s relatives to ensure smooth operations.

The hospital aims to provide high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Belagavi district and will also be accessible to neighboring states such as Goa and Maharashtra, enhancing the region’s overall healthcare infrastructure.
