Belagavi district has recorded 36,35,860 general electors, the highest among Karnatakaโ€™s 34 election districts, according to the final electoral roll published by the Office of the Chief Electoral Officer, Karnataka, on October 27 following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026.

The district has 18,25,531 male electors, 18,10,170 female electors and 159 electors categorised under the third gender. Belagavi leads Bengaluru Urban, which has 24,01,939 general electors, by 12,33,921 voters. Mysuru ranks third among the districts listed, with 22,80,067 general electors.

The final roll was published after the completion of the enumeration exercise, publication of the draft roll, receipt of claims and objections, and verification of cases by Electoral Registration Officers (EROs). Citizens are advised to verify that their names and particulars appear correctly in the final list.

How to check your name in the final electoral roll

Every eligible voter in Belagavi should verify their name in the final electoral roll, even if they possess a Voter ID card.

Citizens can check their details through the following official channels:

  1. Download the final electoral roll PDF: Visit the Election Commission’s electoral roll download portal. Select Karnataka, Belagavi district, the relevant Assembly constituency and polling-station part to access the list.
  2. Search by personal details: Visit the Voters’ Services Portal and use the voter search facility to check enrolment and polling details.
  3. Check in person: Visit the office of the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO), Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (AERO) or Booth Level Officer (BLO) for the relevant polling area.
  4. Check the district election website: Visit the Belagavi district administration’s election page for electoral-roll and polling-station information.

What if your name is missing?

Eligible citizens whose names do not appear in the final electoral roll can still apply for inclusion, as electoral-roll updating is a continuous process.

  • Form 6: Apply for inclusion of your name through the Voters’ Services Portal or offline through the concerned ERO, AERO or BLO. Submit the prescribed supporting documents.
  • Form 8: Use this form to correct existing entries or update your address following a change of residence.
  • Track your application: Applicants can check the status of their application through the voter services portal.
  • Appeal against a decision: Anyone aggrieved by an ERO’s decision may appeal to the District Magistrate under Section 24(a) of the Representation of the People Act, 1950, within the prescribed period. A second appeal may be made to the Chief Electoral Officer under Section 24(b), subject to the applicable rules and timelines.

Citizens can also contact the Election Commission’s voter helpline at 1950 for assistance.

Voter ID card alone is not enough

Possession of a Voter ID card does not by itself establish that a person’s name is present in the current electoral roll. Voters should confirm their enrolment in the final list and check their polling-station and serial-number details.

The publication of the final roll does not end the process of updating electoral records. Eligible citizens whose names are missing can apply for inclusion, while voters who find errors in their existing entries can seek corrections through the prescribed procedure.
