Jubilation and revelry marked the Rajyotsava celebrations with various Kannada organisations taking part in the celebrations.
The celebrations commenced with prayers and hoisting of the national flag. District in-charge Ramesh Jarkhiholi flagged off the cultural procession with various tableaux. The different types of Folk dance groups were an added attraction.
Crowds in huge numbers were present for the procession and the Chennamma circle, Shaniwar Khoot areas were completely packed with people.
The celebrations are very unique in Belagavi with huge crowds dancing to the sounds DJ songs and also other cultural instruments.

These all activities should be stopped. Only 15th Aug and 26th Jan should be celebrated. These celebrations have become nuisance to the citizens (Rajyotsava and Black Day).
