Belagavi South, a stronghold for the BJP, has once again lived up to its expectations. Abhay Patil has emerged victorious from the seat with a significant margin of 12,308 votes. Patil’s nearest rival, Ramakant Konduskar of the MES, secured 64,786 votes, which accounts for 40.72% of the vote share. In contrast, Patil secured 48.45% of the votes.

In 2018, Patil won with a massive margin of 58,692 votes, securing 84,498 votes. Although Patil has secured fewer votes in 2023, his victory is still significant. It is believed that voters in the state may have denied a voice to the BJP, but Patil’s work has been appreciated in the South.

The Congress candidate stood in third place with 13,015 votes, accounting for 8.18% of the votes. Patil’s victory is a testament to his hard work and dedication to the people of Belagavi South.
