The city corporation has floated 9 tenders of 17 shops each, which makes it 153 shops in all on APMC road adjacent to Zilla Panchayat Complex in Belgaum. 5-11-2012 is the last date for the submission.
The total estimate has been drawn to Rs.1,55,41,789.95 for 153 shops and the same has to be completed in 6 months from the issue of work order.
These shops would be identical to the shops being built near Sia Mandir First gate Tilakwadi.
According to the tender each shop would cost Rs.1,01,580.
It may be recalled that during the Vishwa Kannada Sammelana many shops were demolished and then it was promised that new shops would be built and the shop keepers would be relocated.
These shops could be under the same, but we cannot confirm this.
i also felt this may be a compensation for all the shops demolished during Vishwa Kannada Samelan.
