HESCOM has started laying underground (UG) cables in the city to prevent dangling wires, which pose danger to residents, especially during the monsoon. This Project envisages for Conversion of existing 11 KV Over Head Line to Under Ground cable system in Belagavi City.
As of September end about 10 kms of Under Ground Cables have been laid in the Udyambag area.

After replacing overhead power lines would result in reducing the number of interruptions in power supply due to falling of trees, overturning of poles and snapping of power conductors. Also it was possible to reduce the energy losses by switching over to underground cables.

Good work. Please do it even faster at great speed. And put it to full use. Further no electric poles should be visible anywhere in this city. Do the same for telephone cable and poles.
