After a AAB story the Traffic Police Belgaum created a Traffic Police Page on May 9, 2011. It received a tremendous response and in 4 days it got 600+ fans on the page and people shared their views, ideas and photos and complaints from various fronts. As on date there are 1225 people on the page.
The SP answered queries at the start and then CPI traffic took over from him and replied to each query and also shared some notes about better driving.
On June 25, 2011 the last message was posted by person incharge on the page and no one has responded from the police department’s side after that.
Fans on the page have started posting messages RIP (rest in Peace) as no one is answering the queries posted by Belgaumites.
Even many people have unliked the page and people are sharing messages on the social network that unlike this page, this page is dead.
The social media can be utilized in a good manner as for the Delhi Traffic page or other cities the response is tremendous and they have a dedicated staff who keeps on replying to the queries posted.
Even people had registered as traffic eye, traffic vigilant, Belgaum citizen and were posting regular traffic problems in the city like no parking, defective number plate etc.
It is really sad that even when there was good response to this page, the department due to its in activeness has just made this page like any other govt. work.
It feels bad to write about the untimely death of this page as we were the first ones to post about the page.
