In August the Belgaumpolice.in website was launched and after the launch it was never updated, we believe as the press release still show an August date.
And look at this angle as well, Delhi traffic police joined Facebook and twitter to make people approach them the more convenient way. You can complain about the traffic, traffic rules violators online and the best part is action is also taken on the complaint.
Just upload a picture of the violator with the location, date and time. Rest leave it to the authorities. They will issue a notice against the violators according to the photos uploaded. You can also complaint about the road conditions.
DTP Facebook page has 55302 fans which is good number and the number of contributions are very good in number.
Complaint could be made in a simple manner:
Upload the photo:
and write something like this:
Fancy number plate on Dwarka road.
Vehicle number: DL 9C J 3144
Date and time: 14th April 2011, 11:30 AM.
Pls do the needful.
Someone from the DTP team will say thanks and action will be taken on the violator.
Same can be done the DTP Twitter page as well.
Many would argue that such kind of tech usage in a city like Belgaum would not be done as the website of the Police is not updated then who will look after this.
But this has been a success and authorities should look into making use of technology for the betterment of the society.
Is anybody from the Belgaum Police reading this?
Thanks Sahir.
The Pune police have also made use of Facebook and its a huge success. The Belgaum Police should give it a try. Hope some ones reading this.
Even Bengaluru Police also have similar system like Delhi.
I think the 'Belgaum Next' Forum should start working on this with the Belgaum Traffic Police.
