The KLE Society, an organization dedicated to Transforming Lives through Education, Healthcare and Research is presently in its Centenary Year since establishment. The Centenary commemorations have been ongoing over the past one and a half year and have included several events in the academic, healthcare and cultural domains.
The Centenary Celebrations will culminate in a series of grand events from the 7th to 19th Nov 2016 & the following is the schedule:
7th Nov 2016
The students of Institutions will be presenting cultural performances simultaneously at 21 different locations in Belagavi including Chenamma Circle, Dharmaveer Sambhaji Chowk, City Bus Stand and other locations in the form of a Flash Mob. The said performances will happen at 10 AM and 6.00 PM. These group performances will happen on the 7th, 8th and 9th Nov 2016.
8th Nov 2016
Students from various institutions of KLE Society at Hubballi will participate in a “Clean the City” campaign and take to the streets to conduct cleaning activities and generation of awareness in the context. The organization will also felicitate the municipal workers who shoulder this responsibility through the year.
Felicitations of the former Principals, Faculty and non-teaching staff at various institutions of KLE Society at Hubballi and Sholapur will also be conducted at the respective places on 8th Nov 2016.
9th Nov 2016
Students from the institutions of KLE Society at Belagavi will participate in a Graffiti creation competition. The students will decorate the walls along the pavement leading from Dharmaveer Sambhaji Circle to Chennamma Circle with various creative representations depicting “Indian Heritage and Culture”.
Felicitations of the former Principals, Faculty and non-teaching staff of various institutions of KLE Society at Bengaluru will be conducted on 8th Nov 2016 in the august presence of Shri. V Somanna MLC.
10th Nov 2016
The KLE family at Belagavi comprising Member of Board of Management, Life Members, Heads of various institutions, faculty and students will conduct Cleanliness drives simultaneously across 49 wards in Belagavi city. Local Corporators, Member of the District Administration and other dignitaries will also join hands with the KLE Family in this effort. Local Sanitation workers will be felicitated for their continual efforts in keeping the city clean.

The unveiling of the statue of Shri. B V Bhoomaraddi will be held at KLE Technological University, Hubballi as members of the KLE Family will assemble to pay reverence to the contributions of this munificent donor to the cause of education and the KLE Society. Ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka, Shri Jagdish Shettar, Shri Pralhad JoshiMP and other dignitaries will be present.
Former Principals, Faculty and non-teaching staff at various institutions of KLE Society at Karwar, Dharwad, Haveri and Gadag will be felicitated on the occasion at Hubbali.

The entire KLE Family including Members of Board of Management, Life Members, Heads of Institutions, Faculty, Alumni, Students and several dignitaries in the city of Belagavi will participate in a grand “Centenary Rally”. The event will be flagged off by Member of Parliament and BCCI President Shri Anurag Thakur at 3 PM at Subhash Chandra bose (Lele) Ground, Tilakwadi, Belagavi. District Incharge Minister and Minister for Small Scale Industries, Govt of Karnataka, Shri Ramesh Jarkiholi will be the Chief Guest. Ex-Chief Minister of Karnataka and KLE Society alumnus, Shri Jagdish Shettar, Shri Pralhad Joshi MP , Shri Basavaraj Bommai MLA, Shri Basavaraj Horatti MLC and other dignitaries will grace the occasion.
The added attractions of the rally will be the Military band, all women’s Dhol performance, Tableaus representing Education, Healthcare, Engineering, Law, Agriculture, Research and other services of the KLE Society and the rich diversity, heritage and culture from various parts of India. The rally will also highlight several social issues like Save the Girl Child, Women empowerment, Go Green, Water conservation, Global warming, etc.

The 101st Foundation Day of the KLE Society will be graced by the presence of Honorable Prime Minister of India Shri Narendra Modi in a grand function at the District Stadium, Belagavi. Minister for Chemicals and Fertilizers, Govt of India, Shri Anant Kumar, Minister for Statistics and Program Implementation, Govt of India, Shri D V Sadanandgouda, Minister for Drinking Water & Sanitation, Govt of India, Shri Ramesh Jigajinagi, Members of Parliament Shri B S Yeddyurappa, Shri Pralhad Joshi, Shri Suresh Angadi and other dignitaries will be present. Students from the KLE School of Music will present a cultural program on the occasion.
A Cultural Performance by Ms. Rekha Hegde and “Prince” will be held at Lingaraj College ground at 6.00 PM.

Honorable Member of Parliament Smt. Meenakshi Lekhi will address a gathering at the Lingraj College Ground, Belagavi on the subject “Women in Politics and Empowerment”, at 10.30 AM.
Prof Richard Derman Associate Provost, Global affairs, Director Global Health Research, Thomas Jefferson University Thomas Jefferson will be felicitated on the occasion. The honourable Professor is visiting the KLE University to explore prospects of future initiatives in Healthcare Research.
Pioneer of “India Dance Week” and Bollywood Choreographer Sandeep Soparkar and troop will present a series of dance performances at the District Stadium at 6 PM.
From 10th Nov to 18th Nov 2016 a series interactions with 26 members of the Global Network facilitated by the National Institute of Health, USA will be conducted at the KLE University. These representatives are from the countries USA, Zambia, Republic of Congo, Pakistan, Kenya and Guatemala.

In reverence to the contributions to the establishment of the Lingaraj College in 1933, a statue of then Minister for Education, Bombay Province Sir. Siddhappa Kambli, will be unveiled at the garden in the Lingraj College premises. Minister for Geology and Mines, Govt of Karnataka, Shri Vinay Kulkarni and Minister for Higher Education, Govt of Karnataka, Shri Basavaraj Rayareddy will be the Guests of Honor for the occasion.
As part of the Founders Day celebrations, KLE Centenary Year awards ceremony will be held at the Lingraj College ground wherein the students and faculty of institutions of the KLE Society who over the past year have excelled in academics, sports and extra-curricular activities at the state, national and international levels will be felicitated.
The evening program at 6.30 PM at the District Stadium will showcase the performance of the rock band “Indian Ocean” who are considered pioneers of the fusion rock genre in India.

The morning session at the Lingraj College Ground at 10.30 will comprise a lecture by Principal Secretary, Backward Classes and Welfare, Govt of Karnataka, Smt Shalini Rajneesh who will address the audience on the subject “Social empowerment”.
In a star studded musical extravaganza at the District Stadium at 6.30 PM, the audience will have the privilege of being entertained by the fantastic “Musical-Trio” of Shankar Mahadevan, Ehsaan Noorani and Loy Mendonsa.

The function at the Lingraj College ground at 10.30 AM will be graced by the presence of Honorable Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, Govt of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari and Chairperson of Infosys foundation and KLE Society alumnus Smt. Sudha Murthy who will address the audience on the topics “Roads and basic infrastructure in India” and “Employment opportunities for youth in India”, respectively.
Inauguration of the new building of KLE International School Belagavi, Kuvempu Nagar Belagavi by Honorable Minister for Road Transport and Highways and Shipping, Govt of India, Shri. Nitin Gadkari.
The cultural event at 6 PM at the District Stadium will witness the performance by noted playback singer Palak Muchhal.

The evening session of the celebrations at the District Stadium will include a performance by the troop of Dancer, Choreographer, Artistic Director and founder of the Bengaluru-based Nritarutya Dance Trust, Ms Mayuri Dixit.

“Industry and Business opportunities in Karnataka” will be the topic addressed by the Honorable Minister for Large and Medium Scale Industries from Commerce and Industries Department and Minister for Infrastructure Development, Shri R V Deshpande in the morning session at 10.30 AM at the Lingraj College ground.
Padmashri and Jnanpith Awardee, prominent Indian poet and playwright Dr. Chandrashekhara Kambara will unveil 100 books written by various members and well-wishers of the KLE family as part of the efforts of “Prasaranga”, the Publications department of the KLE Society. The books pertain to the history and development of the KLE Society and the numerous contributors who have over the ages shouldered the responsibility of facilitating societal transformation through education, research and healthcare.
The grand finale of the cultural performances will commence at 6 PM at the District stadium with the performance of noted playback singer Shantanu Mukherjee (Shaan) along with local singing prodigy Master Vishwaprasad Ganagi who is a strong contestant on the ongoing reality show “The Voice of India-Kids”.
