The long wait for Belgaumites has finally come to an end, the dream of having our own Puneri style Dhol Tasha Pathak has now come to reality. The best part – All its group members are “Belgaumites”. A few like minded people came together, with a noble aim of starting Belgaum’s independent Pathak lead by Mr. Pranav Gadgil.
The unique part of this pathak is the vision of uniting people from different class & area, having a true vision & have a positive impact on the society says President of the Group Mr. Sachin Natekar. This being the first year, the Pathak started its journey by dedicating its inaugural performance to the first Sarvajanik Ganapati of Belgaum “Zhenda Chowk”. In these 10 days of Ganapati festival, the Group has performed for various Ganeshotsav Mandals which include Maruti Galli, Ravivar Peth, First Gate (Tilakwadi), Shukrawar Peth, Ansurkar Galli, Khaasbag and Subhash Market, free of cost. First year itself the pathak was successful to form a group of 35 and still counting. One of the reasons to start the Pathak is to bring back the traditional touch to the Belgaum Ganapati festival which in these years has been highly dominated by Dolby, loud bollywood and western music says secretary of the Group Mr. Sagar Hegde. In coming years, the Pathak aims to include as many people as possible and take it to next level say coordinators Mr. Parshuram Zende and Mr. Pavan Shivangekar.
