142 crore allocated for the development of Belagavi airport

DEVELOPMENT OF Belagavi AIRPORT IN KARNATAKA

SHRI IRANNA KADADI Will the Minister of CIVIL AVIATION be pleased to state: (a) the details of the passenger traffic at various airports of Karnataka particularly at Belagavi airport during the last three years; (b) the details of the amount allocated, disbursed, and utilized for the development of Belagavi airport; (c) the steps being taken for the development of Belagavi airport; and (d) the details of the flights currently operating out of Belagavi airport? ANSWER MINISTER OF STATE IN THE MINISTRY OF CIVIL AVIATION (GEN. (DR) V. K. SINGH (RETD)

(a): The details of the passenger traffic at various airports of Karnataka including Belagavi airport during the last three years are at Annexure.

(b) & (c): The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has undertaken the work of strengthening and extension of existing runway for the operation of code-C aircraft, new Apron for parking three code-C aircraft, taxiway and isolation bay, construction of new domestic Terminal Building, new ATC Tower cum Technical block cum fire station, substation and other ancillary buildings/ services at Belagavi airport.

The amount allocated for these works is Rs. 142 Crore and the amount disbursed and utilized as of 22.07.2021 is Rs. 111 Crore.

(d): At present, from Belagavi airport, the flights to Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Mumbai, Kadapa, Hyderabad, lndore, Nasik, Jodhpur, Mysore, Pune, Surat and Tirupati are being operated.
