The innovative restoration project that breathed new life into an ancient building constructed in 1906 at the Vaccine Depot Belagavi will now be used as a senior citizens’ entertainment club, earlier it was planned to be used as a guest house for VIPs.
Located on the premises of the Vaccine Depot Tilakwadi, the bungalow built in 1906 has been restored at a cost of a total of Rs. 90 lakhs and was completed without compromising the traditional style.
Belagavi Smart city ltd has now contemplated converting it into a senior citizens’ entertainment club which was envisaged by MLA Abhay Patil in his last election manifesto as well.
The entertainment club for Senior Citizens will include Music Room (Tabla, Guitar, Violin, Mouth organ, etc), a Library and reading room, Sports room(for Table tennis, Carrom, Chess, and other games) more amenities would be added as per the demand.
MLA Patil had also envisaged a special room cum Lab to check BP, Sugar levels along with a Canteen, Usabari Katta(Sharing talks from here and there), Yoga premises, a hall inspired by Mount Abu for Meditation, and many more things for recreation of the senior citizens.
