3 arrested in Belagavi for running illegal overseas recruitment firms

The Belagavi police have arrested three persons for allegedly running illegal overseas employment centers in Belagavi.

The Travel World office in Darbar Galli and the office of Standard group situated in Shetty Galli were raided by the police.

According to police, the accused were identified as Imtiyaz Yaragatti, Farooque Abdul Hameed and have been booked under the immigration act 1983 by the Market police station and also u/s 420 IPC u/s 10 (24) immigration act

315 Indian passports and ₹1.13 lakh cash were seized from them.

In another related case Imran Ahmed was luring job aspirants through social media for overseas jobs and he has been booked by the APMC police u/s 420 IPC.

In Belagavi there is no approved agency by Protector General of Emigrants, Bengaluru as an OVERSEAS RECRUITMENT AGENCY.

Protector of Emigrants (PoE) under the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has warned the public against illegal overseas recruitment agencies operating in Kochi which have come out with luring offers of overseas jobs during the Covid pandemic period.

They were targeting gullible people who have lost jobs due to the pandemic-induced economic crisis.
