There are cities where the Ministry of external affairs has delayed opening Passport Seva Kendras due to unavailability of good space, and in Belagavi the City Corporation has a 3500 Sq feet open space at its Goaves Shopping complex lying un-utilized since a couple of years.
Belagavi now included in the list Prospective Additional Passport Seva Kendra, now that officially Belagavi has found its mention in the prospective list the City Corporation must take lead and send a feasibility report to the MEA so that this process can be expedited.
The members of the Past presidents forum of the Chamber of Commerce and Mayor Sarita Patil visited the Govaes Complex and saw the space which according to sources is even bigger than the Hubballi PSK.
The space which is on the first floor is easily accessible and even parking space is available which will make it very feasible for a passport office.
