A huge spike in cases was seen on April 1, with 46 new cases reported for COVID-19 in the Belagavi district.
Out of the 46, 17 are from Belagavi taluka, 6 Gokak, 7 Athani, 1 Hukkeri, 1 Khanapur, 4 Chikkodi, 6 Ramdurg, 4 Others.
The active cases have risen to 251 now.
Results of 3079 samples is awaited.

On April 1, 2020, Belagavi had seen its first 3 cases namely from Belgundi, Camp and Hire Bagewadi.
After a steady decline from July onwards, the new cases are on the rise since March 15 on a gradual basis.
The state has already confirmed a second wave and people should follow the COVID guidelines seriously and avert more cases.
