50 electric buses are coming to Belagavi

A comprehensive plan has been devised to enhance the transportation system in Belagavi city by introducing 50 new electric vehicles. S. Bharat, the Managing Director of North West Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, has recommended making the necessary preparations for this initiative. Furthermore, within the next three months, additional buses will be allocated to Belagavi city. Instructing the concerned officials, Bharat emphasized the importance of formulating a detailed plan for the operation of these buses.

During his visit to the Belagavi division on Monday, S. Bharat, the Managing Director of Northwest Karnataka Road Transport Corporation, conducted a thorough inspection. In conjunction with this visit, he convened a meeting with department officers to discuss the progress of the bus operation and ongoing projects in the Belagavi division. After reviewing the work, Bharat provided valuable guidance and instructions to the officers. He specifically emphasized the need for utmost care in implementing the Shakti Yojana, ensuring that it does not inconvenience students.

To facilitate public commuters, particularly students, Bharat directed the authorities to arrange additional trips during peak hours. He also stressed the importance of maintaining cleanliness and efficiency in the operation of vehicles, urging for greater discipline in these areas.

Bharat issued a directive to complete the construction of the Kittur bus depot by March 2024. He emphasized the importance of bringing the buses from this facility into operation promptly. Additionally, he instructed the completion of the construction work for the Khanapur new bus stand by the same deadline.

Highlighting future developments, Bharat announced that the division will receive 40 new diesel vehicles within the next two to three months. He assured the officers that a comprehensive work plan would be prepared to accommodate additional operations on suitable routes.
