60.85 % of the electorates exercised their franchise in the polling conducted for the civic body. Thanks to discrepancies in the voters’ lists many could not vote even when they had their Voters ID card.Â
Total electorates for Belgaum were 314616 in which male were 159389 and 155227 female. There were 315 polling booths in the city. Voting Done: total- 191454
Male- 98040 Female- 93414
There are 373 candidates out of which 267 are males and 106 females in 56 wards will come to know their fate on March 11, the counting day.

No major incident was reported however there were a few reports of EVM’s not working and hence additional time were alloted at those respective booths. In ward No.35 at around 4 pm there was a squabble between two contestants, a case has been registered.
The polling was high in other city and town municipalities/panchayats. The highest polling of 88.83% was recorded in Sadalga Town Panchayat followed by 82.64% in Yallamma Saundatti Town Municipal Council.
Its a good figure i think, belgaumites are now grownups !
Some what ok , But some belgaumities are not voted ,may be some problems in voting list or they are not interested.
61% sounds good, I wish the 40k who failed to vote had some alternates.
