Laxmi R. Hebbalkar, president, Karnataka Pradesh Mahila Congress in a media briefing said that a sum of ₹9 crore had been allocated for development and improvement works in parts of Belagavi Rural Assembly Constituency under the jurisdiction of Belagavi City Corporation (BCC).
The funds have been allocated from the out of the ₹100 crore special grant provided by the CM to the BCC.
Road and drainage work would be taken up in Vinayak Nagar, Jayanagar, Sindhi Colony, Ganesh Nagar, Omkar Nagar, Banjara Colony, Chikubaag, Sahayadri Nagar and adjoining areas, besides in Police Colony, Irrigation Colony, Shahu Nagar and Vaibhav Nagar.
Hebbalkar said MLA Sanjay B. Patil of Bharatiya Janata Partyhad brought in only about ₹2.45 crore for development work in the constituency in the last nine years.
MLA Sanjay B. Patil has said, he also a member of the committee for the disbursal of the 100 crore special fund and he only had asked for the fund. And work has also been completed in some areas. Who is Laxmi Hebbalkar to get the funds sanctioned, nor she is a MLA or MP. She is misleading the people by saying all this.
