First Indian Idol junior Anjana Padmanabhan (10) will be visiting the KLE school of music tomorrow in Belgaum.
Anjana Padmanabhan (10) is a class Vth student of Delhi Public School (South) Bangalore . Anjana’s father V Padmanabhan is the Finance Head, Intuit India Ltd, Bangalore, while mother P Kalyani is a home maker. The family hails from Tamil Nadu and settled in Banglaore a few years ago.
Fondly called as Laddoo / Kuttima, Anjali is an extremely talented child. She took interest in music two years ago and started practising. Infact, music has been in her family as her maternal grand father was a musician-cum-singer. She won Indian Idol Junior (Hindi) in 2013 conducted by Sony TV at Mumbai, was one of the top 10 singers (placed at number 7) of Airtel Super Singer 3 (Tamil) in 2011 conducted by Star Vijay TV at Chennai. She was picked up by her school staff for Sony Entertainment Television’s first singing reality show for children some months ago. She successfully emerged victorious in all rounds and finally voted as the best in the grand finale. For the finale, she competed with three other finalists – Nirvesh Sudhanshubhai Dave, Debanjana Karmakar and Anmol Jaswal. The talented young girl received the trophy from mega star Amitabh Bachchan and became first Indian Idol Junior.
Judged by singer Shreya Ghoshal, and music composer duo Vishal Dadlani and Shekhar Ravjiani, the Sony Entertainment Television show was hosted by Karan Wahi and Mandira Bedi and it went on air June 1. The biggest factor about Anjali is the fact that she doesn’t know Hindi, but her powerful and melodious rendition of Hindi songs helped her win the audiences’ hearts and thus.
Anjana’s hobbies include singing, watching cartoons, swimming and playing basketball. She wants to master Hindustani and Carnatic music forms and scale heights.
