Normalcy has returned to the areas where, last night there were clashes between two communities and 5 vehicles were torched and even police officers were injured including the Commissioner, DCP and ACP.
More than a dozen housed were also vandalized. Most interesting fact this time was the mask covered miscreants who were pelting stones.
Commissioner Krishna Bhata has said that 20 people have been detained and the matter is been investigated and we can confirm the cause only after the investigations are over.
The clashes began at Khadak Galli and spread to the neighbouring Chavat Galli and Bhadakal Galli.
A group of Muslim residents met Commissioner and said that the alleged that incident occurred due to tearing of the poster of Tipu Sultan. However Commissioner assured them that an investigation was on and the truth will be brought forth and no one will be spared.
Additional forces have been deployed and no untoward incident has been reported after mid night.
The situation is calm and under control. Business as usual is going on in the main city market.
