The 80-bed facility has been set up at Morarji Desai Residential School in Halabhavi near Vantamuri will be in addition to the BIMS facility and KLE hospital which is already treating 6 patients.
Only asymptomatic individuals with Covid-19 infection will be shifted here and those who need medical treatment will be kept at BIMS hospital, the district collector said.
Only a handful of asymptomatic persons already in BIMS Hospital are being moved to Morarji Desai Residential School in Halabhavi from now on.
District Collector Hiremath made it clear that all the newly enrolled patients will be enrolled in BIMS or residential school based on their needs.
According to the government guidelines, all the necessary facilities, including meals, lodging and beds, have been provided at Morarji Desai Residential School in Halabawi, said District Collector Hiremath.
A separate medical team and nursing team will continue to work in the residential school. CCTV is equipped with a solar system to provide TV and hot water.
