Babasaheb Ahmed Sahab Sanadi, Kannada writer, passed away in Kumta on Saturday evening. He was 86.
He hailed from Shindolli on Sambra Road in Belagavi district. Final rites will be conducted at Shindolli on Sunday evening.
He was a winner of the coveted Pampa award and Rajyotsava award. He was among the few writers who worked as an organic link between the literary worlds of Kannada and Urdu.
A post graduate in Kannada and Sanskrit, he worked as an officer with the All India Radio, Mumbai, for several decades, before settling in Kumta in Uttara Kannada district.
He wrote books in Kannada, translated books from Marathi and Urdu to Kannada. He was awarded a honoris casa by the Karnataka University, Dharwad.
He won several awards including the Karnataka sahitya academy award.
