The members of the social organization Citizens for Society participated in an awareness rally to mark the official launch of their commitment on the occasion of 15th August 2013. The rally that spanned the lengths of Deshmukh Road and its adjoining areas was aimed at generating awareness about the role of citizens in maintaining sanitation and hygiene. The rally also aimed at inviting people to understand the philosophy and objective of “Citizens for Society” and contribute their bit towards the developement of educational facilities in small vernacular medium schools in town.
Through the medium of All About Belgaum, the organization wishes to convey the following details to the citizens of Belgaum and other followers of AAB who would be interested in a social commitment.
CITIZENS FOR SOCIETY
“Citizens for Society” is a social organization dedicated to the cause of “Educating for Change”. The objective is to bring about change through the task of educating people.
We are a group of individuals from various domains of society who have come together for the purpose of making a difference.
The following are the activities that we are committed to:
1) Improvement of Education in Vernacular Medium Schools:
a) Facilitating ideal conditions for learning
b) Conducting “Teacher training programs”
c) Improving the teaching methodology
d) Providing resource persons for training in “English Speaking & Writing”
e) Upgrading and maintaining school infrastructure
f) Introducing Audio-Visual instruction and experiential learning
g) Providing necessary healthcare facilities
h) Assisting students for higher education
2) Facilitating social change by undertaking awareness campaigns to inform and educate citizens in vital issues like:
a) Civic Sense and Discipline
b) Health, Hygiene and Sanitation &
c) Enhancing commitment to social causes
We invite individuals both in Belgaum and beyond to be a part of this communion and assist us in our attempt to bring about change and help address various issues of mutual concern.
