In a recent meeting held in Bangalore, it was decided that the Belagavi City Corporation must submit the survey report of the 112-acre area within the Belagavi Cantonment Board limits within the next eight days. Following this submission, further proceedings will be initiated.
The meeting, organized by the state government, saw the presence of key officials, including Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Roshan, Municipal Commissioner Ashok Dudgunti, Cantonment Board CEO Rajeev Kumar, and other authorities.
The survey was conducted by a jumbo team formed by the Municipal Corporation, following the instructions of the district collector, and focused on the 112 acres provided by the Cantonment Board. However, the residents of the area have expressed dissatisfaction, demanding that the bungalow area also be included in the survey. Three online meetings have previously been held to discuss this matter, but with no resolution.
The Cantonment Board’s boundary spans 1,763 acres, which includes both military and residential sections. While the Bazaar area is expected to be handed over by the Board, citizens are pushing for the inclusion of the bungalow area as well.
The sudden offline meeting in Bangalore has shifted attention to the upcoming discussions, where these issues are expected to be addressed further.
