Belagavi and Chikkodi educational districts performed poorly in the SSLC examinations compared to last year as Belagavi slipped 18 places to 24 with a passing percentage of 84.77 while Chikkodi stands at 13th place from its previous year position of 3 with a passing percentage of 77.43.
In the Belagavi educational district, private unaided schools did better than aided and government schools. Unaided schools scored 80.67 % results, while government schools scored 78.33 %. Aided schools scored 76.1 %. A total of 22,825 students, out of the 29,347 who had appeared for the examination, passed out of 465 schools.
Roshni Tejaswi Tirthahalli of Divine Providence High School has topped the Belagavi educational district with 622 out of 625 marks. She wishes to become a doctor like her parents and grandfather. Veeresh Jambagi of Athani taluk is the topper in Chikkodi scoring 622 out of 625.
