The traffic police and the RTO have continued their action against errant Auto Rickshaws and have fined and even seized autos rickshaw’s running without meter and permit and other documents under Indian motor vehicle (IMV) act.
In a joint operation, Traffic police and RTO officials booked cases against 40 auto rickshaw and seized 25 rickshaw’s as well at RTO circle, Ashok circle, Sanchayani circle and other busy places in the city on Tuesday. On Monday around 40 were seized.
Officials checked the auto permits, auto meters, drivers license, registration, backside seats. Those drivers who failed to produce valid documents and had no meters installed, their rickshaw’s were seized on the spot.
This drive is expected to continue over the week.
