The business/industry associations in Belagavi are very upset with the government regarding the injustice done to the Belagavi district in terms of starting industries and providing other infrastructural needs.
Today an interaction was carried out today with the respected members of the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce, Laghu Udyog Bharati, Small Scale Industry, Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Bar Association, and Saraf Association regarding the demands of Belgaumites and points for the development of Belagavi were finalized which will be presented in the upcoming meeting on Thursday with Chief minister Basavaraj Bommai.
Abhay Patil MLA Belagavi South and Rajya Sabha member Eranna Kadadi held a meeting with all the heads of the organizations at the Belgaum Chamber of Commerce hall.
Everyone spoke that Govt must give special emphasis on starting new industries in Belagavi.
In the constructive meeting point was raised to include Belagavi also in the Karnataka development projects, which bypass Belagavi most of the time. And whatever new projects are coming are all going to Hubli and Dharwad.
The Chamber demanded to have a new industrial estate of around 5000 acres,
For records, Belagavi has not got any new industrial estates in the last 15 or so years, whereas our neighbor district has got around 20000 acres of an industrial estate.
Our industrialists from Belagavi are lured by neighboring states like Goa and Maharashtra with special rates for industrial land and subsidies in land cost and power as compared to Karnataka where industrial land is sold by KIADB at the market value.

They are also been offered single window approvals along with benefits in power.
Even connectivity between the neighboring state of Goa and Maharashtra has issues with the bad road on the Karnataka part, which is been a long demand from the Chamber.
Smart city projects, ROB, and traffic management are in pathetic condition and no department is ready to take the onus of delays and the fate of these incomplete projects.

BCCI strongly recommended having our demands to be taken care of and having an immediate resolution of the issues faced by the common citizens of Belagavi.
Abhay Patil said the Chief Minister will take a suitable decision in this regard on Thursday.
Belagavi need international Airport. Demand for such requests, automatically everything gets corrected.
