The Belagavi City Corporation has officially terminated its contract with the BVG Company for city sanitation services. Commissioner Dr. Rudresh Ghali signed the order on Monday (26), also authorizing the forfeiture of the company’s deposit amount of approximately 20 lakhs.
During Dr. Ghali’s tenure, the BVG Company was awarded the contract for city sanitation work. However, as he is being transferred to a new position, Dr. Ghali has made the decision to cancel the contract with BVG Company due to their failure to pay the required deposit as stipulated in the terms.
The Belagavi City Corporation had granted approval for the contract with BVG Company at an increased rate of four and a half percent above the rate specified in the tender. Following this, a memorandum of understanding was done between the municipality and the company.
