The Belgaum Chamber of Commerce & Industries had a meeting with Deputy Commissioner and submitted a memorandum regarding some key Problems and suggestions

a) Issue regarding Rs.10 Coins Not accepted by the Public

Reserve Bank of India has released a Press Release recently i.e. Public can continue to accept Rs.10 coins as legal tender on 20th November 2016, but unfortunately in Belagavi District all Traders and the Public are not using/exchanging Rs.10 Coins. (Notification Copy enclosed)

Nowadays there is a shortage of Rs.10 Note in the market and even banks are ready to issue Rs.10 Coins but Most of the Traders and Public are not aware that this is a legal currency of our India.

Suggestion :

We request you to kindly issue a Notification / Press Release to the Public to accept the Rs. 10 Coins which will be benefited to all the Trade sector/ Banks & Government

b) Issue regarding 3rd Railway Gate Over Bridge.

We wish to inform you that Hon’ble MP Smt. Mangala Angadi Madam along with Railway Officials and Contractor had a Joint Inspection and Meeting with Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industries on 12th October 2021 at 3rd Railway Gate to discuss the progress of the ROB work, In this meeting Railway officials and Contractor stated that on or before 31st January 2022 the Railway over bridgework will get completed, but till today there is no progress, as per the existing work process, we accept it will take another 6 to 8 months time if done seriously. There is tremendous pressure from our members and citizens since it is connected to Goa National Highway and to the major Industries and education institutions of Belagavi, we are facing huge traffic problems day to day. We have warned during the last meeting to the Railway officials that if not completed within 31st Jan 2022 then Chamber along with its members and the public will sit for protest in front of 3rd Railway Bridge

Suggestion :

We request your good self to intervene in this matter and call a Joint meeting with Railway officials and Contractor at 3rd Railway gate to get complete the work.

c) Issue regarding Traffic Problem at Market area

As you know Police Department has implemented most of the areas as No Parking Zone, due to which the Public are facing huge problems with parking and most of the Customers are visiting from Kolhapur and Goa. And from KLE Hospital to Udyambag there is no Parking area on both sides of the road.

Suggestion

We request your good self to arrange a meeting with Smart city officials regarding the multi-storage parking at Belagavi city, in the meantime, we request you to allow parking at Sardar Ground and Vacant grounds which are available at City area from which some of the Parking issues can be resolved.

d) Issue regarding Internet Connectivity at Suvarna Vikas Soudha, Belagavi

We had received complaints that there is Internet facility which has been provided by Government is very low and due to this, the government works are getting very late.

Suggestion :

We request your good self to kindly instruct the concerned department to install FIBER Connection with high-speed Internet at Suvarna Vikas Soudha Belagavi

5. Requested to withdraw RTPCR for Entry into Karnataka State to Boost the business.

  1. Sir, kindly decongest the city! Concentrating only on particular areas like Market, Raviwar Peth the many busy chowks alone and giving heed to a few interest groups are not enough. There are areas within the Corporation limits, not predominantly residential (say, like Hanuman Nagar or Sadashiv Nagar maybe) crying for planned development and attention. Even private autorickshaws are difficult to come by in these areas and medica facilities even for emergency are a far cry. Systematic & holistic surveys are the need of the hour. Heeding to specific interest groups alone will not suffice.
