Chief Minister visits flood-affected areas

Chief Minister BS Yeddyurappa visited various locations of the Hiranyakeshi River basin, which has been affected by flooding since last week.

On Sunday (July 25), he visited the town of Sankeshwar in Hukkeri taluk and took heed to the flood victims.

BSY said that fifty acres of land are made available for the permanent rehabilitation of houses affected by floods in the town of Sankeshwar. It has been decided to build houses for the victims.

Speaking on the occasion, Revenue Minister R. Ashoka said that the authorities have been instructed to distribute relief to victims and all will be compensated.

The CM then inspected the National Highway-4, which was submerged near Yamagarni village in Nippani Taluk.

DC MG Hiremath said 630 families were affected and had been provided shelter in five care centers.
