DC Rajappa is the new Commissioner of Police Belagavi

Dr. D C Rajappa and IPS of the 2003 batch has been appointed as Commissioner of Police Belagavi city, the post was vacant after retirement of Krishna Bhatta.

The IPS officer, has written over 300 poems based on real-life incidents. Rajappa has been writing poems since his college days. A keen observer, he started taking poetry seriously when he joined the police force.

Yourstory says, he is a celebrated name among Karnataka’s law enforcers is D C Rajappa, who is a firm believer of community-friendly policing. He is also a renowned Kannada poet, and believes that empathy is the guiding force for both poets and policemen. He encourages policemen to write poems out of their personal experiences, and has brought out the hidden poet in 500 policemen in Karnataka.

Rajappa is a firm believer of community-friendly policing, where policemen understand and connect with people’s problems better, looking beyond their routine duties. He also believes that empathy is at the core of both poetry and police work.

    All the best, We, the citizens of Belgaum have a lot of expectations from poet turned police officer especially when the city is witnessing communal riots as hate mongers will do their best to lure Belgaumites since Assembly Elections are fast approaching.Once Again All the Best…
