Today, the Lokayukta successfully set a trap and apprehended Basavaraj Nalatwad, the Deputy Director of Public Instruction (DDPI) in Belagavi.
This operation was initiated in response to a complaint filed by Arjun R Kuri, the Principal of Vishwa Vidya Chetan Higher Primary School located in Turamuri, Belagavi district.
The complaint alleged that Basavaraj Nalatwad, in his capacity as the DDPI, had demanded a sum of Rs 40,000 for the annual renewal of the school’s permission.
The accused was caught red-handed while accepting the bribe of Rs 40,000, and the entire amount was subsequently recovered. The investigation is currently being conducted by the diligent and dedicated Investigating Officer, PI Usman Awati.
